White iPhone 4 Delayed Because of White Not Being White

iphone 4 white 300x232 White iPhone 4 Delayed Because of White Not Being WhitePocket-Lint spotted a white iPhone 4 the other day at a press event. When speaking with the owner of the phone it seems to be that Apple [AAPL] has delayed the launch of the white iPhone 4 due to the white not being correct. For example, the white home button isn't the same color as the white used for the glass.

With Apple being a perfectionist it has decided that it wont release the phone till everything is 100% right.

This of course isn't confirmed officially, but at this point in time is as good a reason as any we have heard. We have actually heard this same rumor before which adds a little credibility to it.

If you are wondering how the guy at the press event got hold of one, apparently he has a contact at Apple HQ who managed to get one for him as there are plenty to be seen at One Infinite Loop.

Verizon iPhone 4 Rumors Firing Up Again

iPhone 4 antenna problem 300x215 Verizon iPhone 4 Rumors Firing Up AgainWall Street Journal is reporting that Apple [AAPL] is about to start manufacturing a CDMA variant of the iPhone 4 ready for a launch on the Verizon network early in 2011.

The CDMA chip is said to be built by Qualcomm and with it, it will allow the iPhone to be compatible with the different network in the US.

Of course, this is no guarantee that the iPhone will make it to Verizon next year as all we have right now is a lot of speculation which doesn't mean much till Apple announce it.

Will you be switching to an iPhone if it lands on the Verizon network? or have you been waiting too long and moved on to another OS?

Verizon Stores To Sell iPad This Month

ipad 300x210 Verizon Stores To Sell iPad This Month We mentioned in an earlier post about Walmart selling the iPad (as of today in fact). It now seems Verizon will be jumping onto the same bandwagon as they have announced that they'll be doing the same from October 28th no less, across 2000 of their online stores.

They'll be the usual, various bundles available though these will also come with Verizon's MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot. This is a small device that gives the user access to the company's own 3G network. When the user is away from a Wi-Fi hotspot, iPad owners will need to connect to the MiFi 2200 from the iPad itself. They've also said that the MiFi's "cloud" allows it to provide Web access through the company's 3G network to up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices at the same time.

These bundles include one such at $630 which, for your money, will get you a 16GB iPad Wi-Fi as well as the mobile hotspot. For $730 you'll get the slightly upgraded 32GB iPad with the mobile hotspot and then you can purchase the 64GB iPad with hotspot to tow for $830.

As an option though, you can also purchase one of Apple's iPad without the hotspot but pricing hasn't yet been confirmed by Verizon.

PS3: Sony Confirms Deal With LOVEFiLM

lovefilm logo 300x187 PS3: Sony Confirms Deal With LOVEFiLMWe wrote not too long ago about the possibility of LOVEFiLM being available to PS3 gamers next month. Now Sony have certified that this is for real as they have crossed the t's and dotted the i's as it were and preparing for LOVEFiLM to cater for gamers in the UK.

Once you turn on your PS3 and have downloaded the required update, you will have access to LOVEFiLM's library of movies via the PlayStation 3's XMB.

Though users won't be getting the full 'LOVEFiLM' experience at present as they will only be able to view approximately 3% of their entire library at launch (around 2000), but not to fear as this is due to be expanded shortly thereafter.

At the moment a £5.99 per/month package will get you two hours of online time. Those on the £7.99 per/month package get four hours, then those who are paying £9.99 per/month will get unlimited access. Though at this time LOVEFiLM will not be offering the full range of movies available via the firm's online pay-per-view services or postal DVD and Blu-ray offerings.

It seems that the reason PS3 owners won't be getting the whole bunch is due to Sony already offering their own "reasonably priced" viewing plans.

Delay AGAIN For Gran Turismo 5

GT 5 300x168 Delay AGAIN For Gran Turismo 5First hinted at during the PlayStation 3's unveiling back in 2005 at E3 and then originally touted to be heading to consoles for a November 2nd release this year, now only to be delayed yet again.

Gran Turismo first hit the shelves way back in December 1995, landing on the humble PlayStation 1 and the series to date has since sold over 50 million copies the world over.

Each new entry in the Gran Turismo series has made impressive improvements on the previous and Gran Turismo 5 is set to raise the bar for other driving simulations even higher with its unique weather system, massive array of vehicles (said to be around 1000) 70 tracks across over 20 different locations.

Today it seems the developers at Polyphony Digital are wanting to buy a little extra time on there little gem to...

"make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches."

As far as any new release dates go, all we know at the moment is that it'll be "this holiday season". Fingers crossed.

We've included a little trailer for the game just in case you've forgotten what its supposed to be about.

Call of Duty: Black Ops will now be playable in 3D

call of duty black ops 300x170 Call of Duty: Black Ops will now be playable in 3DWhile writing this post I find myself  realising that I've already written a fair amount on the whole '3D' thing. But this new avenue to view our TV programs and play our games seems to be all the rage at the moment and rightly so.

Killzone 3, which is set for a February 2011 release, is already supposed to be playable in 3D come launch day, closely followed by Crysis 2 a month after. Now it looks as though Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops will also be following in like come November 9th when its released right across the console spectrum. Of course though, unless the required 3D updates fall on the other consoles as well, then PC and PS3 gamers (once they've got the necessary updates, 3D ready TV set or monitor and a pair of active-shutter glasses) will be the only ones to benefit from Treyarch adopting the new dimensional tech.

Treyarch’s Mark Lamia said...

"Development of stereoscopic 3D began as an R&D project, but once we saw what the technology brought to the Call of Duty experience, what a great fit and how immersive it was, we knew that we had to develop it for Black Ops.”

I have both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, but seeing as I don't see myself getting a 3D ready TV for free anytime soon (if ever sniff, sniff) then I don't really think its going to matter which console I get Black Ops for. Oh but I can dream. Either way I'm properly looking forward to Call of Duty's next episode.

Sony Google TV Details Leaked

sony google tv device details 0 300x193 Sony Google TV Details LeakedNext week, Sony will announce the details of its new Google TV. The event will be held in New York on October 12.

Rather than waiting till then, perhaps you might want to take a look at some of the details that have already leaked. Some details were found by Sony Insider that reveal we could be seeing several Google TVs which include a 24 inch, 32 inch, 40 inch and 46 inch variant. Model numbers will be the NSX-24GT1, NSX-32GT1, NSX-40GT1 and the NSX-46GT1. The numbering shows that the TVs are in the same range with perhaps only size being the only difference unless the 24 and perhaps 32 inch models do not get full HD at 1080p.

Prices are rumored to be $1299.99 for the 32 inch model, $1499.99 for the 40 inch model and $1899.99 for the largest. Prices for the smaller model are unknown.

Other rumors reveal that Sony might also create a companion box similar to the Logitech Revue called the NSZ-GT1. Blu-Ray integration is also a possibility on this device as it is said to have an eject button for some kind of media.

We'll get the official details next week to see if these end up being correct or not.
