PS3: Sony Confirms Deal With LOVEFiLM

lovefilm logo 300x187 PS3: Sony Confirms Deal With LOVEFiLMWe wrote not too long ago about the possibility of LOVEFiLM being available to PS3 gamers next month. Now Sony have certified that this is for real as they have crossed the t's and dotted the i's as it were and preparing for LOVEFiLM to cater for gamers in the UK.

Once you turn on your PS3 and have downloaded the required update, you will have access to LOVEFiLM's library of movies via the PlayStation 3's XMB.

Though users won't be getting the full 'LOVEFiLM' experience at present as they will only be able to view approximately 3% of their entire library at launch (around 2000), but not to fear as this is due to be expanded shortly thereafter.

At the moment a £5.99 per/month package will get you two hours of online time. Those on the £7.99 per/month package get four hours, then those who are paying £9.99 per/month will get unlimited access. Though at this time LOVEFiLM will not be offering the full range of movies available via the firm's online pay-per-view services or postal DVD and Blu-ray offerings.

It seems that the reason PS3 owners won't be getting the whole bunch is due to Sony already offering their own "reasonably priced" viewing plans.

Sharp and their glasses-free 3D tech

sharp 3d screen 300x224 Sharp and their glasses free 3D techWe posted earlier on Toshiba's venture into glasses-free 3D tech and now it seems Sharp has also come up with their own too, rather this time for smaller screens for the mobile phone.

Sharp have recently demoed a couple prototypes for a 3.8 inch and 10.6 inch screen showing off their 3D tech without having the need to where glasses. As with any glasses-free 3D screen, the user will still be required to pretty much look straight on at the screen and from a relatively short distance as well. But seeing as these devices will tend to be either a mobile device such as a phone or tablet then this shouldn't pose a problem. Likewise with Nintendo's 3DS.

Again, these are just prototypes but we're hoping that the 'powers that be' will bring this to the masses soon.

How Kerry McDuling Went From Employee To Running Her Own Publicity Business

Next year when I release a new training program I’m doing something a little different to market it – I’m hiring a publicist to get coverage in Australia for myself and the product.

That publicist is Kerry McDuling, who is going to help me get exposure in Australian media, which I expect will translate into a new stream of subscribers and customers for my business since I haven’t really tapped into the offline media world much.

While having one of our initial meetings I explained how I am looking for interesting entrepreneurs to write a column for my blog and Kerry, given what she does (she runs the business herself and has many clients paying her four figure sums for publicity services), was an ideal candidate.

She agreed to come on board and share with you some insights into what publicity can do for your business, what she has learned helping her clients and also some experiences from her life running the business, transitioning from an employee to her own boss.

Here starts her first article where Kerry gives you a brief background into how she became a publicist…

I am a publicist… a personal publicist, to be exact. It all sounds very Entourage, and I guess it is to a certain degree.

What I do, effectively, is work with extraordinary people in their fields (authors, athletes, speakers, industry professionals, entertainers, entrepreneurs) to build their profile among their key audience. That is via the media (TV, magazines, newspapers, radio, online media), direct to their own database of contacts and clients, online, through channels such as via other businesses, and through speaking opportunities.

The process includes working with clients to uncover their potential, points of differences, and service/product offerings, as well as how they present to their audience. For example, one of my clients is the national industry body for a sport made famous, or infamous, by Brisbane’s own Steven Bradbury – Speed Skating. (Bradbury became famous in Australia for winning Olympic gold in speed skating when all the competitors in front of him fell over.)

Speed skating represents an interesting challenge because effectively I am promoting a winter sport in a country better known for its outdoor, summer sports, like swimming, rugby, cricket, etc. However, after a few years of working with them, we have generated a great profile for the sport.

Recently I was in Melbourne for the first Speed Skating Open National Championships to be held at the new Icehouse rink at Docklands. It was pretty exciting, because I arranged for Totally Wild Extreme, a children/teenager magazine style show, to film and host an episode from the rink, co-hosting with one of Australia’s first winter medallists, short track speed skater Richard Nizielski. This was a huge win for the sport, because by raising its profile, we are increasing athlete participation and also sponsorship opportunities.

Other ways that businesses make use of the services of a publicist are, for example, to increase traffic to their webpage.

Another client of mine runs boot camps on property investment. She also has two mentoring programs. The first is Sapphire Club – a membership based online club that offers a wide variety of resources and a community of like-minded people. The other one is Patty Cash Club, for people who are really serious about achieving their goals. Through distributing interesting, relevant and useful newsworthy content directly to property-related media, such as Australian Property Investor who print articles online and in their printed magazines, we have created an increase in traffic to her website www.jenniebrown.com.au.

Follow this link to see an example of an article we put together for Jennie and got published on the API website.

I don’t think my personal story is particularly interesting and I am still working towards my goals (yes, they do change almost every day!), but I thought I would give a very brief overview of the woman who calls herself Kerry McDuling.

I was born in South Africa and emigrated with my parents and younger brother, firstly to Ireland, then to Australia, arriving here when I was 14. Finishing high school, I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and Journalism, initially thinking I was going to be a Psychologist, but instead followed in the foot-steps of my father and grandfather, and wrote for a living.

I had my first story as a freelance journalist published at 17, and my first educational textbook published at 22. In between, I fell into an internal communications role with a sporting industry association, before travelling for six months around Europe with my Dutch boyfriend (now my husband).

After my travels, I was Features Editor of a travel magazine, before finding my way back into corporate communications and public relations, as the National Communications Manager of an international real estate organisation. I was there for a number of years before I effectively burned out due to trying to do too much (I had taken a few clients on the side and was privately looking after their PR).

Working full-time for someone else was never a concept that gelled very well with me. Somehow I stuck it out for a total of around five years with three different companies, but I felt like I was constantly stuck in a rut, and could never get my head around that “employee” mentality. I don’t want to sit in the same office all day, every day, looking at the same people. I always knew that I was destined for greater things.

Because I had already built up my consultancy on the side, while still working fulltime, I found it more-or-less a smooth start when I left full time employment. It also so happened that the real estate organisation for which I worked were unable to replace me, so became a client! The rest of my clients turned up as referrals or word of mouth. Attending networking events proved helpful as well, and I met a number of my clients this way. This is how my clients continue to seek me out, and I have found that there is not a shortage of entrepreneurs who understand the value of increasing their profile.

I never set out to be involved in this industry. I had intended to graduate from University and be a journalist. But, as luck would have it, no news organisations in Brisbane were hiring, and I wasn’t interested in moving to the outback, so landed my first job in corporate communications. I don’t have any specific qualifications in Public Relations, and its not really necessary, with the journalism degree being sufficient. I am however attempting to complete a Diploma in Public Relations just so I can say I have it.

Back to this blog and why I am here. I have to be honest, when Yaro suggested I contribute to Entrepreneurs Journey, I was actually quite taken aback. Yes, I am an entrepreneur and on a journey, we all are, but I never write nor speak publically with my own voice or thoughts. I guess this is because, as a publicist, I am effectively a ghost. What I do each and every day is push my clients forward into their influential public arenas, but never myself.

So, this being said, you can imagine the disconnect I feel right now, writing about myself. When Yaro asked me, my immediate reaction was “no way.” Firstly, who is really interested in my story anyway, my journey – I mean, there are so many others who have achieved more at a younger age. I am still struggling with so many concepts that go with being in business.

Yes, I believe that I am very good at what I do, but there are other aspects that I am trying to figure out – such as getting the right people working with me, finding that all elusive work/life balance, managing stress, etc, etc. And having said all that, where am I going to find the time to write a weekly blog, when I have a barely-started diploma I enthusiastically enrolled and paid for at the beginning of last year and which sits in my office mocking me all week long. Plus, I haven’t written anything for myself for so long, where would I even start?

Over a coffee and very sweet chocolate pudding (yes, I am on a low-sugar diet, but I was stressed, ok!), I casually mentioned Yaro’s suggestion to my (amazing) business coach, who swiftly informed me that this was exactly what I needed to do.

By the end of our session, I was actually feeling excited and immediately skyped Yaro to tell him I was going to give it a go. This is why…

After about four years in business, I still haven’t got it exactly right, but you know what, I am in a much better place than I was in 2007! And maybe if someone else can learn from my experiences in business, just one other person, well, that’s a pretty good feeling.?

I am so passionate and enthusiastic about what I do – I eat, live and breathe publicity – and it has allowed me to meet and work with some of the most inspiring people in business today, all on their own mission to find their purpose. I want to share how you can build your business through growing your profile, and also share the experiences of my clients. As I said, they are really amazing people in so many different ways.?

I have always said that I don’t do any publicity for myself, aside from going to networking events, because I would rather focus my energy on doing it for my clients. I also haven’t really needed to, because all of my clients come to me via referral, But…what is it they say about practising what you preach…? Maybe it’s time that I stepped out of the shadows, and stopped being a “ghost” for a while. ?

As well as being a personal publicist, I am a business owner, so no doubt there will be some lessons to be learnt about my tried and tested methods – still a work in progress – to building the ideal business. And, if you want to be a publicist yourself, I am sure you will learn that too along the way.

I’m preparing new articles for you now that will teach you what publicity can do for you and how to go about attracting the right kind of attention for your business, profile and brand. Publicity is one of the most cost effective sources of exposure and web traffic, so this is something every business owner should look at.

In the meantime, if you have any specific questions regarding Publicity, please leave a comment to this article. I’ll have more for you very soon.

Samsung Galaxy Tab UK Price Revealed

Samsung Galaxy Tab1 300x300 Samsung Galaxy Tab UK Price RevealedT3 managed to get some details of the Samsung Galaxy Tab UK price, revealing that it will cost £599 SIM free.

Confirmation of the contract price has also been found as being £199 on a 24 month contract. The 24/month contract will cost £25/month to get it at £199 for the tablet.

Pricing seems a little off to us though as I doubt many, if any, would class the Samsung Galaxy Tab as a mobile phone (even though it does do voice and text messages) as it's just a little too large for that. With this in mind, I expect that people would much prefer to pay closer to £10/month for a contract that comes with data only.

Perhaps Samsung has got the price. Nobody can truly predict that as the sales numbers will reveal if it was a success or not. In my opinion its priced too high on both non contract and contract, especially where the monthly tariff is concerned.

Next webOS Device Could get a 1GHz CPU

p102ueu fcc 300x368 Next webOS Device Could get a 1GHz CPUThe next generation webOS device could include a 1GHz processor. This isn't really interesting for those running the latest generation Android and other various smartphones as 1GHz has been around a while now.

However, those running a Palm Pre Plus and the likes, are currently stuck at 600Mhz which makes a 1GHz jump a nice step for those owners.

Not much is known about the next generation webOS based device. What we do know is that HP will of course make it, and it will run webOS 2.0 from what we understand. We have heard that it is code-named Palm Mansion.

Other information found in the FCC documentation shows that it's a similar device to the Palm Pre although it is clocked at 1GHz rather than at a slower speed.

Everything else appears to be the same which includes the battery cover amongst other things.

We'll keep an eye out as webOS 2.0 looks promising and mixing it with a faster CPU should bring about some good things.

How To Make Money With Small Email Lists

I just finished watching video two from Jason Van Orden as part of his Traffic Attraction Formula launch.

The title of the second video is – The Myth Of The Big List

The Myth of the Big List Video

The premise goes that conventional thinking states in order to make big money with an email list it needs to be big – you need lots of subscribers.

Jason in the video explains that you don’t need huge numbers, what you need is a strong relationship with the people on your list.

That’s true of course, and I’ll talk more about this in a moment, but let’s state something obvious – if you have a big list AND great relationships then you will make more money than a small list despite great relationships.

The relationship with your subscriber comes first, and that’s a good thing, however simple mathematics dictates if you can reach more people you can make more sales.

I’m not refuting Jason’s statement of course, but I do think it’s necessary to point out the importance of your reach and your relationships.

I certainly have made more money as my email list has grown, but it’s not a direct correlation. There are all kinds of variables that go into making a list profitable. The important thing, and this is what Jason’s point is, you can do very well even with a small list, if you build a list of quality subscribers who trust you.

I like what Jason says in his video. He talks about how he build his audience using podcasts, which are distributed via iTunes. He provides valuable content that people consume, which helps to foster great relationships because his listeners hear his voice every single time they listen to one of his shows.

You can imagine people sitting in their car listening to Jason and his co-host Sterling interview experts. That’s like having a captive audience spending intimate time with you. There’s no distractions like on the web – no browser back button, no banners, links, email, search bar, skype, facebook, twitter or all the usual suspects that grab your attention.

That’s some powerful relationship building time, and all it takes is one show a week to keep people connected. There’s one more reason you should have a podcast on your blog too – I’ve had one for years and it’s one of the best traffic and relationship building resources I’ve ever created.

If you watch the full video Jason explains how he was able to rank first in a product launch affiliate competition (one of Jeff Walker’s product launch formula campaigns) using a list of about 10,000 people.

I happened to rank 4th in this particular launch and I was marketing to about 90,000 people, so you can see why Jason is proud of his results.

Obviously there are other factors, such as what bonuses were offered, how often you email your subscribers, how often you promote affiliate products to them, how many times you mailed for this particular offer, which impact results, but still, Jason’s result is particularly good considering the competition he was up against. Some of the other marketers have lists in excess of 100,000 subscribers.

I suggest you watch the whole video to hear his case study and explain why you don’t need a big list to succeed.

To add to what Jason talks about in his video, here’s a few relevant factors that impact how responsive your list is. The more responsive, the more money you make of course, so these are some very important concepts.

The source of subscribers is really important. Where the traffic comes from, and what motivation they have for joining your list dictates how targeted they are. The better the targeting, the more responsive to your messages. The content-to-promotion ratio really matters. Some email marketers send nothing but affiliate promotions to their lists and obviously the response rates will drop unless they can continue to find new subscribers. The real key to success here is to make affiliate promotions about content, that way you get the best of both worlds – you provide value no matter whether someone buys or not, and you make money from those who do buy after consuming the content.List segmentation really helps too. By sending consecutive messages only to people who indicated they were interested in something you offered (flagged by either by clicking a link or opening an email) you maintain the integrity of your list. This is because you don’t send repeat messages to people not interested in certain things. You can read more about how segmentation has helped increase my income here – How Email Segmentation Made My List Stronger AND $31,940 More ProfitableMessage frequency and format matters. People become used to seeing your messages and depending how interested they are will respond better to more or less emails. How you format them is important because subscribers respond to patterns – for example always asking your subscribers to click a link in your email to access content will mean they come to expect links, as opposed to placing all the content in the email itself.

There’s a lot more to it than just these points, but they offer a good starting point to begin your email marketing training. If you’re keen to learn more, watch Jason’s videos, they are free as part of his Traffic Attraction Formula launch.

Android 2.2 on HTC Desire From Today

android 2.2 froyo launch Android 2.2 on HTC Desire From TodayWe posted a little while ago, a few comment regarding Android 2.2 arriving for the HTC Desire. Its always rather mind-boggling to think why delays such as Android updates can take months to launch for the latest handsets. But nevertheless, as of today, those who own the HTC Desire will finally be getting their long awaited update with thanks to the UK network Three.

We're not too sure why this update took longer than expected as all Three have said in the past is that it would be a few weeks. But hey, its here.

Android 2.2 aka 'Froyo' is the latest update that will boost you browser capabilities by utilising Adobe's Flash v.10 software which will allow for greater content viewing over the web and other flash related content.

This news comes as owners of other mobile devices such as Sony Ericsson's X10 are still impatiently waiting for their next update from Android 1.6 which is the OS the device came out with at launch in March.

How To Get Backlinks To Increase Your Traffic – A Case Study

Traffic is, and will always be, a hot topic in internet marketing.

You can have an awesome website that solves the world’s problems, has the solutions to world hunger, in addition to helping men understand women fully (can you imagine that?), but if you don’t have traffic, I would venture to say that your website means NOTHING.

Ok, I know that was harsh, but lets face it – If the people you are targeting aren’t getting to your website, your website might as well not exist.

So how does one get the right type of people to your site? There are many ways to do this, and there isn’t a shortage of people that would venture to give you advice. If you do a search in Google for “how to get traffic to your website”, you will come up with over 93 Million search results.

What I’m going to do in this post is share with you one of the strategies I’ve used – Getting backlinks. I’ll do this by looking at a specific example of how I’ve applied the concept of getting backlinks to my Biology Website.

Lets look at my backlinking strategy in some detail…

Backlinks can be a very important part of the traffic generation process for two main reasons:

Making Google happy. We all know Google, and whether we like it or not (I kind of like it), they are the boss when it comes to cataloguing content across the internet. Where that is concerned, we all have to bow down to the Google gods.

One of the metrics that is important to Google is the amount and quality of backlinks you have directed to your site. If you can get many important sites to link to you, it’s as if those sites are telling Google – “I think this is a site you should check out, and value”. This can result in higher rankings in Google, and lots of natural search traffic.

Direct Traffic. The more sites you get linking to your site, the more sources you have of direct traffic (people clicking the link to visit your site). If you can get a popular site to recommend your product, one of the results of that can be high quality targeted traffic. If your content is highly relevant to those visitors, you can grow your subscriber base significantly, in a relatively short period of time.

When I started my website, my vision was to provide a bunch of short video tutorials explaining various topics in biology, so that teachers and students could both have a resource to enhance their classes.

However, with most of what I was doing, my strongest target was Biology teachers. Being a biology teacher myself, I know how challenging it can be to find good videos to use in your lecture presentations.

Once I decided on a specific target audience, I started doing research in Market Samurai (I’ve become somewhat of a Market Samurai addict, lol). As a part of my research, I asked the following questions:

Who are my top competitors? I did this by entering keywords that were very relevant to my target audience. Phrases like “Biology lesson plans”, “Biology resources”, “teaching Biology” and a few others. Market Samurai then gave me the top 10 sites that rank for all of the keywords I entered.Who links to my top competitors? This is almost like putting on a spy outfit and running through the internet spying on your competitors (I know, I’m so sneaky). I was able to determine, not just how many backlinks those sites had, but which sites were linking to them and where.

Once I had that information, I started my journey. I went to each one of the sites and tried to determine if those sites were potential sources of high quality backlinks for my site. I looked at details such as:

Whether my content is relevant to the siteWhether the site had been updated recentlyIf there was an obvious point of contact listed, such as an email address or contact form

When all was said and done, I had placed all of these details from approximately 100 sites into a spreadsheet, so that I could access them all from one location. This activity took me a few hours on a Sunday, but ended up being very valuable.

Once I had all of my data put together in a spreadsheet, I initiated contact with the owners (or webmasters) of the sites. I did this by either shooting them an email or using the contact form on their site. I typed up a generic email that I modified to suit the person I was emailing.

The email went something like this:

Hi [INSERT NAME]

I’ve just recently visited your site at [INSERT URL] and noticed that you have a page with resources for Biology Teachers. I’m currently developing a site that I think would be a benefit to your website Visitors. It’s an Interactive Biology website and the URL is www.Interactive-Biology.com.

I built this site primarily as a resource for my students. It has videos of my lectures, handouts, labs and even games that they can play to help them learn about the concepts we discus in our biology class. My students seem to enjoy it and I think it can be used to help others. In the last month, we’ve had visitors from over 75 countries access the resources provided on the site.

If you are interested in linking to the site, I would ask you to use the guidelines found on the following page: http://www.interactive-biology.com/linking-to-site/

If you have ANY questions, or if you need anything in terms of resources that I can help with, don’t hesitate to let me know!

All the Best!

As you can see, in the first paragraph of that email, I mentioned that they had a page with resources for Biology Teachers. This paragraph was the one that I adapted to fit the specific situation of the site owner/webmaster I sent the email too.

Using that process, I emailed approximately 20 site owners. Why only that many? I never really got around to finishing the project and will be outsourcing it in the near future.

Once those emails were sent out, I played the waiting game. Out of the 20 emails, I heard back from 4 of those sites. They liked what I was doing and decided to link to my site from a page on their website. This made me very excited.

There was one site in particular that was a VERY high traffic site that also belonged to a Biology teacher. She had the site for a long time (over ten years) and also targeted biology teachers. She replied to me letting me know that she wrote a blog post about my site. In other words, this traffic was HIGHLY targeted traffic.

The results from my initial contact with those sites were interesting. The other two sites that linked to me sent me a handful of traffic, and that was definitely appreciated. However, that one site that linked to me sent me more visits than all of the others. To be more specific, it sent me 517 visits from that one blog post in the first month. However, that traffic soon died off as the blog post moved from the first page to being hidden in the archive.

Once I had gotten some more content on my site, I decided to follow up with that site owner to update her on my progress with the site and to make a specific suggestion to her in terms of linking back in a different way (one that would result in more traffic). This was a significantly longer email, so I won’t share it here, but the gist of the email was this:

I had made lots of improvements (and I provided specific examples). I appreciate her referring her audience to me and was getting great feedback from those visitors. If she needed any help with her site, I would be happy to assist. I then asked her if she would consider placing a link back to my site in her sidebar.

The reason behind me asking her for a sidebar link was simple – by doing so, there would be a backlink on every page of her blog and that could result in a steady stream of traffic. She quickly responded that she was happy to do so, and by the time I received the email back from her that went like this:

I will absolutely add you as a link. You are right about finding free and quality videos for education and your videos are great. I like the changes you’ve done to your site too, I don’t have a lot of time tonight to look at some of your new videos, but I did add you to the “education sites” links.

That was exactly what I was looking for, and it was exactly what I received. Happy me!

As you can see, I put together a list of one hundred sites, contacted 20ish, heard back from four and followed up with one. That one site I followed up with was the most beneficial. It resulted in a significant amount of direct traffic, and also resulted in a number of other sites linking back to me.

I do not spend a lot of time working on my biology site. In fact, I haven’t updated it in about a month (shame on me). However, ever since I received that backlink (in January of this year), my traffic has increased every month. In the last month, the site has received 11,598 pageviews from 4,019 unique visitors according to Google Analytics, and I can track a significant amount of that traffic as being a result of that backlink.

Another great part of this process is that it all happened naturally. I didn’t go out there and buy some backlink software that automatically generated tons of spammy backlinks. I never worry about being penalized by Google for using shady blackhat techniques for generating backlinks. Google is starting to give me more authority. I can tell because they are sending me an increasing amount of traffic daily. My traffic is looking good, and I’m happy :)

My Backlinking experiment went very well and this technique has proven to be a very valuable one. However, I just don’t have the time to do it effectively myself. I will record a video showing exactly what steps I took and will hand it over to an outsourcer. If spending a few days doing it myself had such a large effect, my prediction is that hiring someone to do it on a daily basis will go a long way when it comes to growing my traffic.

Now that I’ve gone through the strategy I’ve used for getting backlinks, let me share a few tips with you that can increase your success:

Choose sites that are very relevant to your niche. Getting backlinks is always a good thing, but the ones that will have the biggest effect will be those with a target audience that is similar to your blog. That is how you will get your highest conversions.Seek to contribute value, not just get traffic. Traffic is a valuable resource, and most site owners who are worth connecting with value their traffic. It is obvious when someone is just trying to get traffic. I get numerous requests for links from my sites and I ignore almost all of them. However, there are a few that have stood out to me because I could really tell that they were trying to contribute value. Seek to do the same and people will notice.Don’t be spammy. This is probably a very obvious one, but I still wanted to mention it. Don’t just send out a bunch of spammy emails asking for links. There is so much spam out there that people are becoming immune to it. Show them that you are a real person who really wants to contribute value.Think big. I can imagine that there are many people out there who would go through this process and be afraid to send emails to the “Big Dawgs” in their industry. I would encourage you to think big and seek to contribute value even with those guys. You never know – they might just say yes, and the worse they could do is say no.Don’t ignore the smaller sites. No, they might not result in a ton of traffic immediately (or possibly ever). However, every link counts. You never know, a site that is smaller today could end up being huge in the future and send you a ton of traffic.

I’m not a backlinking guru, or anything of that sort. I did what I did because it just seemed to make sense, based on what I know about internet marketing. I’m sure there are many other great techniques out there and I would like to hear what has worked for you. Feel free to share your thoughts with me (and everyone else) by leaving a comment below.

GreenPois0n iPhone 4 Jailbreak Download Now Ready

greenpois0n ios 4 1 jailbreak11 300x259 GreenPois0n iPhone 4 Jailbreak Download Now ReadyThe GreenPois0n iOS 4.1 jailbreak was originally planned for a launch this Sunday just gone. However, Geohot sneakily launched the Limera1n jailbreak that used a different method to open up the iPhone.

The Chronic Dev Team behind GreenPois0n have now modified the code use in GreenPois0n to use the same exploit as Limera1n and thus, preserving a second exploit for another time. The iPhone 4 jailbreak by GreenPois0n is now ready for download.

“Because the “untethered” part of this jailbreak comes from a userland hack from @comex, you should still backup your SHSH hashes for 4.1. Do this by either letting Cydia keep them (“make my life easier”), or using Tiny Umbrella. This way you can always come back to an untethered, jailbreakable 4.1 on your devices after Apple has closed their 4.1 signing window (they’ll close the 4.1 window once they push out their next firmware version). If you fail to do this and ever need to restore to 4.1 again, you can still jailbreak but it will be a tethered JB (you’ll need to connect to your computer to finish the booting process, each and every time).

And remember: you can backup your 4.1 SHSH hashes without even being at 4.1 or even being jailbroken, by using Tiny Umbrella.” iPhone Dev Team

Just make sure you read all the details. Also note that if you need an iPhone unlock then you also need to investigate this path first.

You can grab the GreenPois0n download from here.

Samsung Omnia7 WP7 Smartphone Spotted on Video

omnia77 300x180 Samsung Omnia7 WP7 Smartphone Spotted on VideoThe Samsung Omnia7 i8700 has been spotted and captured on video. The Omnia7 looks to have the Samsung Hub as part of Windows Phone 7 that allows you to view the weather, news as well as get other bits of information.

The device looks to be quite slim with a large screen on the front. Not much is known about what runs inside other than the obvious minimum specs that Microsoft attach to a chassis 1 type phone.

Check out the video below to see a demonstration of it working.

Android Angry Birds Download Now Available

angry birds android 300x227 Android Angry Birds Download Now AvailableAngry Birds for Android has finally landed. We heard earlier this week that it might have been delayed a week or two and then heard again yesterday that it was on track for this week. We now see that Rovio managed to get it out on time.

The game can be downloaded from here and although it says it's still a demo, you'll actually find that it is the full version but with some ads. A few last bugs are being ironed out in the game and once they are complete, the game will be made available in the Android Market if you wish to download the ad free version.

The game its self is quite addictive and requires that you catapult Angry Birds across the screen to get the pigs. It might sound strange, but trust me... theres loads of levels that will keep you busy for all hours of the day and night.

3 Limiting Beliefs You Must Eliminate From Your Mindset

I had conversations with two people in the previous weeks who were considering blogging for the first time, or at least taking it serious for the first time.

It’s interesting to speak to people who are considering this path, especially hearing what stops them from doing it. Most people never start a blog, and of those who do, very few see it as something they are committing to beyond a few casual posts a month.

Obviously if you want results with a blog that can potentially have an impact on your life, you need to put enough effort in to have an impact on other people’s lives. Sure you can set up a casual blog, write an article now and then that your closest friends see because you share it on facebook and twitter, who then encourage you to continue, but that’s not going to change your life.

If you want the exposure and reach that can lead to real income or amazing business or personal opportunities, you’re going to need to at the very least commit to writing on a more consistent basis. It helps tremendously if you change your mindset and reframe your blog as merely a casual journal to a proper project, something you see as serious as a job you care about or a business you want to see become your main occupation.

If you’ve read my articles for a while you know I focus more on mindset than anything else when it comes to successful blogging, business and life performance.

Everything begins and ends with the mind, and not surprisingly, this is the first place I see weaknesses and limiting beliefs surface in new bloggers.

I was speaking to my potential new blogging friends urging them to get serious about it. I explained the possibilities, the paths they could take, talked about how they could use their blog as a platform to expand into areas they are passionate about, if only they would focus on increasing output on a consistent basis.

The most common excuses dished back to me for not taking action all relate to some kind of fear.

“Why would anyone read my writing?”

“I don’t have enough to say to write a blog regularly”

“There are already plenty of amazing blogs covering the same subjects, why would anyone read mine?”

Unfortunately these beliefs always prove true when a person isn’t congruent with their goal, and that is the real challenge to overcome.

No one will read your blog if you don’t produce something to read on a regular basis. If you don’t take your blog seriously then you’re not going to be thinking about creating content, hence you won’t think of any new topics to write about. Finding other blogs writing “better” content than you could write is easy too, so why not believe you have no chance to compete and never try in the first place.

It’s easy to defeat yourself, especially if you are not certain what you are doing is what you want. Being confused is a forgivable offense. Everyone starts there, where you are not sure if you want to do what you are thinking of doing, especially when you have demands pressuring you to make money or pursue a career or follow the herd like all your friends.

Taking a job is a lot like becoming part of a religion. Relinquishing control to a higher power takes away some of the responsibility for your decisions. Being told what to do and toeing the line is much easier than making decisions for yourself and coping with the outcomes.

If you take a job you have a boss and a company you are responsible to, a job with functions that are there to follow every day, and plenty of social proof is all around you. Everyone else in the company is doing the same thing so it must be right and it’s certainly the safest choice because you won’t upset anyone.

This is why employment will always be less scary than entrepreneurship. If you are responsible for what you do every day, if you don’t do it then no one is going to be upset. You might become upset with yourself when you realize you aren’t getting anywhere, but that’s a lot easier to cope with than upsetting other people (or is it?).

The first step if you want to build a successful blog or do anything that is entirely in your hands, is to commit to it. The choice must be made in the mind and from there everything else is born. Your foundation is your ability to continue action regardless of circumstances and emotional state, which is incredibly hard if you don’t have a runaway train-like direction towards your goal.

Obviously you shouldn’t be blind in your actions. There’s a difference between committing to a goal and focusing on actions that are entirely changeable based on results, and hitting your head against a brick wall expecting it one day to not hurt because you keep doing it. Feedback from experience is by far the best tool for navigating towards a goal, so combine a steadfast mule-like approach to action, with a rabbit-like agility to change direction as terrain changes.

Finding this kind of clarity is by far the hardest part. There’s not much I can do to “teach you” how to gain this insight, this internal power.

Why?

Because it relies so much on your self esteem.

Whatever you believe you are capable of is what you are capable of. When you haven’t done something before, you will easily find all the reasons why you can’t do it.

This article is not going to dive into how to increase your self esteem – that’s an entire series in itself (start with my Positive Change series for help in that area), but what I do want to do now is destroy some of those limiting beliefs I mentioned earlier that budding bloggers almost always have.

Let’s begin with the first limiting belief – why on earth would anyone want to read your blog?

That’s a good question, but it’s easily answered.

Why does anyone want to read the Lord of The Rings, or Harry Potter, or the Bible, or for that matter listen to the Beatles, or watch Sex and The City, or consume any form of content produced by other human beings?

The answer is because they want to. Even a textbook prescribed to a student at university that is incredibly boring (I had plenty of those) is read by some people because there is a motivation to do so – in this case to gain the information necessary to pass the subject.

In your case your blog will be read by people who have some kind of compelling reason to do so. It might be because they share your passion for the subject you are covering, or perhaps they like your writing style or your personality, maybe they searched for an answer to a question that you provide, or maybe they were guided to your blog by a peer recommendation.

The real question here is not of the value of what you produce, but of your ability to produce it in the first place. If you create something that serves a need of other human beings then your words will be read. As the sign above my high school homeroom blackboard said – 100% of the shots you don’t take don’t go in (thanks to Wayne Gretzky for that one!).

You must be a creator. The universe is structured in a way to not only reward creators, but functions in a perpetual state of creation. There is no such thing as a static existence. You might sometimes feel like your life is going nowhere, but you are always moving towards something and away from something else.

In the case of blogging – or Internet business, or any aspect of life – if you are creating something for others, or you might call it “giving”, then you are opening doors to what you want.

It amazes me how many people get stuck because they don’t have direction and believe that thinking about it or getting coaching or having discussions will help them get unstuck. Yes these things are helpful and have their place, but if you really want a concrete answer – create something and see how others react.

Action is creation, and that is why it works. It’s the ultimate confusion destroyer because it eliminates possibilities by creating outcomes. If you test enough possibilities by creating things one of them will eventually take you to what you want.

But I digress, I’m getting a little off topic…

If you believe no one will read your blog and that stops you from writing it, then you’ve just proven yourself correct. How immensely satisfying (NOT!). You’re human, you consume other people’s creations, why is it so hard to believe that other people will be dazzled by what you create?

Let’s assume I’ve pumped you up enough that you believe others will like what they receive from you. At least a teeny-tiny fragment of the world will take a look, enough for you to find out if you want to keep writing about what you are writing. However, what are you going to do when you run out of things to say?

Let me tell you what anyone who is passionate about something knows - you can’t ever get enough of what you love.

Sure we have limited time and attention spans, but when something captivates us, we will never ever be satisfied. Think about a TV series you loved – did you ever want it to end? (I could have watched LOST forever.) How about a book, or even a person you met who is just so amazing you think about them all the time? You can never ever get enough of these things, they are insatiable.

The beautiful thing about blogging, when you connect the dots perfectly and you align your passion with other people’s passions and become a creator and not just passive consumer, you enter a world where there are no limitations.

You can’t run out of things to say if you’re talking about what you really love. There’s an unlimited number of stimulation points, triggers, inputs and situations that generate ideas. The only way for it to stop is for you to either die or clear your mind completely through meditation – though even in a meditative state your subconscious will no doubt find a way to create even while your conscious mind is dormant.

If you’re struggling for ideas then you’ve either chosen something you don’t care about enough, or switched your perception of your subject to something that is more like a job or a task that must be done, rather than a passion that must be expressed.

Your emotional state dictates how you create. Change your frame and you change your world.

Observe how you feel when you think about writing your blog. Think about the subjects you are covering and what they mean to you and your readers. Ask yourself where your content is taking you, what is the “big picture” creation you are working towards, the sum of the parts that leads to a life changing goal (presumably – why work towards anything less!). If you see the spark behind the next step – the next article – it can lead to magic and that magic is full of endless ideas for possible blog articles.

You’re an interesting person with interesting opinions, ideas and concepts to share. Don’t ever think otherwise or once again you’re killing creativity before it even has a chance to teach you or anyone else anything.

The last limiting belief to destroy today is that of competition. So many people give up on blog ideas because they believe there is too much competition already covering the same subjects.

There’s something interesting I learned about the blogosphere many years ago, something that can be wonderful and very different from the traditional offline world of business. Competition doesn’t really exist.

Let me explain…

I’m into dance music, in particular the trance and progressive scene. This particular genre has a global following large enough to support a lot of DJs. The DJs travel around the world playing shows and producing music they release on podcasts, CDs, and to play live.

I subscribe to about 12 different podcasts from different DJs. Each podcast is put together by a DJ, however they are all composed of different tracks created by different DJs. Tracks are often remixed, which means one DJ takes another DJ’s track and creates a unique spin on it. DJs all play each other’s music, helping spread awareness for each other’s work. Obviously some DJs are more popular than others, but no DJ plays only their own music, they always mix it up.

Every week of the year many DJs are playing live gigs in all kinds of places on the planet, often with each gig featuring multiple DJs. As far as I can tell (you never know what goes on behind the scenes of course), the dance music industry is more about collaboration than competition. There’s abundance rather than scarcity, cooperation rather than competition.

I can listen to music from one DJ and another, one doesn’t exclude the other. DJs actively work to promote each other and hang out with each other at live gigs, making for a community vibe rather than one of ruthless competition.

It turns out the blogosphere is a lot like this. I started writing a blog about how to make money from blogging (and other related topics). I certainly wasn’t the first and I wasn’t the last. There always seems to be room for more if you have good ideas to share.

Bloggers generally share content and support each other by recommending each other’s good articles, podcasts and videos, promoting each other’s products, interviewing each other, combining to launch projects together and very much working within the framework of a community.

Even if you don’t participate in the community at all, just because you start writing about a subject doesn’t mean readers have to decide between your work and the established players. Obviously the established players have the advantage of incumbency, but a reader is not mutually exclusive, he or she can read as many blogs as they choose. This happens because the barriers between one blog and another are non existent. There’s no fee to read most blogs, which means switching cost is zero, so you can consume as much as you have time for.

Obviously the issue of information overload and attention deficit comes into play as a result of lots of options, but the point is still valid, just because one blog already covers a topic you are passionate about should not stop you from entering the market. In fact you should see that as encouragement as it demonstrates there is a market large enough to support a blog and you have at least one other blogger you can get to know and possibly collaborate with.

Remember your voice is distinct, your experiences are unique and your style is your own. No one can compete with that, so you always have a point of differentiation.

I’ve debunked at least three of the major blockages that stop people from starting a blog. Although I can attempt to convince you of all kinds of things using my words, at the end of the day all of this is about you.

You decide whether you believe other people want to read what you have to write about.

You decide whether you have enough inspiration to produce content on a regular basis.

You decide whether the existing websites in your market represents competition that stops you or evidence of success that inspires you to start.

No matter what happens, it’s entirely your responsibility and your choice. All you need to do is figure out which choices are the best for leading you to what you want, then have the courage to make them.

Market Samurai Review – How Keyword Research Can Increase Your Traffic

Ever since I started blogging, I intentionally stayed away from keyword research. It just seemed like one of those things that could take up too much of my time. I understood the principles of keyword research but felt that in order to do it effectively, I had a lot of work to do. I opted to take the “lazy” way out. I just wrote.

Writing came easy, and I didn’t have to worry about doing too much work before writing. Just let the words flow.

An internet marketing buddy of mine kept bugging me telling me that I NEEDED to do keyword research. He also told me that there was a program that I needed to get and use because it will make my keyword research a breeze. The name of the program was Market Samurai. I didn’t listen to him – at least not for a while.

When I decided to start a new blog in a different niche (biology), he kept bugging me once again with this Market Samurai stuff, and I eventually decided that I was going to use it on this new project to see what the big deal was. I’ve been using it for over a year now and I want to share what I think about it with you.

I’ll also show you some of the results I’ve achieved and you can decide whether it could be beneficial for you too.

Market Samurai is a comprehensive market analysis suite with the following tools built in:

Rank Tracker: This allows you to monitor your website and specific pages on your website to track your rankings for specific keywords. It’s a good way of quickly keeping eye on where your website ranks in the search results in Google, Yahoo and Bing.Keyword Research: Uses the Google Keyword Tool to come up with a list of other relevant keywords. It then goes deep into an analysis of those keywords to give you an idea of the competition for the keyword.SEO Competition: This section gives you a list of the ten top-ranked competitors (top 10 in Google). It then gives you a bunch of details about each of the top ten sites giving you information on how hard it is to compete with them in the search resultsMonetization:This field helps you find different affiliate products to promote. You can connect it to your affiliate accounts on Amazon, Clickbank, Commission Junction and Paydotcom and have it automatically generate affiliate links for you.Other tools are included that help you to… Find domain namesGet ideas for content to writePromote your website by finding relevant backlink sourcesPublish content directly to your sites

When you start a new project in Market Samurai, it opens a welcome screen where you can select from any of the tools mentioned above (See screenshot below). The ones I use most often when doing my research are the Keyword Research and SEO Competition tools, because those two tools give me all of the information I need for my research. I do use some of the other tools, but not near as much as those two.

Market Samurai can be pretty handy for doing the research to come up with a keyword-rich domain name that can give you a better chance of ranking well in Google.

When I was trying to think of a name for my biology blog, I entered the keyword “Biology” into the Keyword Research tool, it generated a list of keywords for me. Biology was a keyword with a bunch of searches but also a TON of competition.

However, when I looked through the list, I saw that the search term “Interactive Biology” (among others) had a decent amount of searches, but a relatively low amount of competition. I also noted that the websites that were in the top ten search results in Google for that keyword weren’t really strong competitors, so I decided to go with the name Interactive Biology. Without much effort I was able to rank two of my pages on the first page of Google for that keyword phrase, taking positions between 2 and 6 of the results depending on the day.

As a result of my research, the keyword phrase that delivers the most traffic to my website is “Interactive Biology”.

I then decided to test Market Samurai out to come up with ideas for content. This is not something I do often, but when I first started the website, I decided to try it out. I thought of the topics within biology and I decided to do some keyword research on the different organs in the human body. When doing that, I was surprised that at the time, there were a ton of daily searches for images and diagrams of the human heart, and hardly any competition. This gave me a great idea for content.

I went online and started searching for a bunch of pictures of the human heart and made one blog post with a plenty of human heart pictures and diagrams. That is something I would not have done if I didn’t do keyword research. This research didn’t take a lot of time, but the result was that page is one of my highest entry pages into my website. In the last 30 days, I’ve received 728 pageviews to that one blog post alone.

It also gave me ideas for content that I can write for my blog that should drive a significant amount of targeted traffic without doing a ton of work. It has given me a number of ideas for my online business blog that has resulted in a significant amount of traffic, even within the competitive “Make Money Online” searches. You’d be surprised with the amount of long tail keywords you can find that are easy to rank with if you take the time to do the right kind of research even within a very competitive niche.

The Keyword Research Tool in Market Samurai is one of the most comprehensive ones I’ve seen. It gives you most of the info you need on one screen and the ability to drill down into any particular aspect of your research. The information that I find most useful is:

The number of daily searchesThe maximum amount of daily clicks you can expect to get from the search engines if you get to the number one spotThe total number of webpages that mention that keyword phrase (amount of competition)

It also gives you an idea of how profitable the keyword is by letting you know how much is spent on that particular keyword in Adwords for every click, giving the keyword an actual SEO value. This gives you an idea of whether or not people are willing to spend money when searching for that keyword.

One of the other cool features of Market Samurai is that it allows you to insert your domain names and the keywords you are trying to rank for, and then it keeps track of your positions in Google, Yahoo and Bing. It not only tells me where my main page ranks, but it also shows me all of the posts/pages on my blog that rank for that particular keyword phrase and where they rank. This helps me to keep focused on the main keywords I’m trying to target and lets me know what kind of work I need to do in order to increase those rankings to where I want them to be.

When I was going through Market Samurai to make this review, I realized that there are a few features that I’ve never used that can come in pretty handy. I was very surprised that you can add your affiliate accounts (Amazon, Commission Junction, Clickbank and Paydotcom) to market samurai and have it find products on all of those affiliate networks that are relevant to your niche and have it automatically generate affiliate links for you.

For example, when I was doing keyword research on “human heart diagrams”, it gave me an affiliate link for posters of human heart diagram in Amazon.com. You can see how that would be a very useful product for someone looking for human heart diagrams.

I was also impressed with the “Publish Content” section. You can enter your wordpress blog login credentials and publish your content directly to your blog from inside Market Samurai. This includes the ability to add images and links, and anything you would add from your wordpress dashboard. The benefit of doing it in Market Samurai is that it also stores a copy of your post on your hard drive. This comes in very handy because you always have an additional backup copy of your content, just in case something terrible happens.

The feature to help you find domains wasn’t that useful for me. I prefer going to Godaddy and finding my domain names there. Yes, Market Samurai gives many more suggestions, but I found that I never really liked the suggestions.

Market Samurai is great for what it does, but isn’t perfect. There are a few places where I do see room for improvement:

It could be quicker. When doing an initial search for a keyword, it can take as much as 30 seconds to a minute to give you results, depending on your connection speed. It can then take another minute or so to give you all of the competition information. All in all, that’s not a ton of time, but I tend to grow a little impatient while the process is happening and I’m just staring at my screen for a minute. However, if you consider the alternative – doing it by hand at multiple different sites – it still saves a ton of time.Project Management could be streamlined better. When using Market Samurai, you set up individual projects. Within these individual projects, you can set up research for a number of keywords, which are displayed at the top of the screen. However, if your project gets big (which mine tend to do), it can be a little confusing when you run out of space at the top.

If you are into keyword research, I think that Market Samurai is a must have. I’ve checked out a number of Keyword research tools in the past and this is by far the most comprehensive.

If you are not into keyword research, but do see the value of high search engine rankings, this is a great way to do in depth research without having to spend a bunch of time doing it.

Do you NEED to have Market Samurai in order to do effective Keyword research? No, not really. You can go to the Google Keyword Tool and start your keyword research and get a bunch of keyword suggestions. Then you can take each term and put them individually into Google search between quotes to get an idea of how much competition there is. Then you can go into Yahoo Site Explorer and analyse the top 10 sites individually and check out the backlinks, and go to a ton of other places to get a full picture of your market, and spend a few hours doing all of this.

Alternatively, you can use one of the other great market analysis tools out there and spend hundreds of dollars on a monthly basis (Yeah, I’ve checked).

Or you can take the easy way out, get yourself a copy of Market Samurai, spend a few minutes doing some comprehensive analysis and be on your way to dominating your market one keyword at a time.

Here’s a video from the guys who created Market Samurai to explain more about the software –

Market Samurai has a one time price tag of $147, which in my opinion is a great price, especially considering the value. However, you can download it and use the fully functional version free of charge for 12 days. When you download it, you will have the option to purchase it for $97, which is 35% off the full cost, if you take advantage of the offer within 6 days.

Download Market Samurai Now

Have fun discovering the fun of keyword research and competitor website analysis!

Android Angry Birds Could Launch This Week

angry birds android 300x186 Android Angry Birds Could Launch This WeekEarlier this week it was reported that the Android version of Angry Birds could possibly be delayed another week or 2 for various reasons. It now appears that this is not the case and that Rovio could have the game out by the end of this week (ie, tomorrow).

The Angry Birds Beta for Android version proved to be very popular with over 1 million people downloading it. It certainly looks to be another hit for the Android platform and Rovio.

We try to have it out by the end of the week, and it’s looking good at the moment!

It’s going to be attractively priced, and we try to make it available for as many devices as possible. QVGA displays aren’t supported for the first release, but we’re working to include them in a future update.

Why Third Party Input Helps You Make Better Plans

I had a meeting today with Gideon Shalwick where we talked about our plans for next year. It’s important for us to coordinate what we are doing, but beyond just scheduling, it’s helpful to meet and talk about goals so we know what we are both looking to achieve.

I find it immensely valuable to listen to Gideon talk about what he’s learned recently, what he wants to do next, his opportunities and motivations. His ideas helps me to generate my own.

In this video I talk about why you should look for an industry peer, friend or partner to chat about your future planning of business goals.

Crazy Taxi Arriving To Xbox and PlayStation

Crazy Taxi 300x181 Crazy Taxi Arriving To Xbox and PlayStationFor ages and ages I've been wanting to see this game on our next-gen consoles, I remember when it first came out on the Sega Dreamcast and it was around that time that I really started to get into Offspring. But I digress, the game back then garnered solid review scores due to its variety of mini-games, wacky characters and wicked soundtrack (hence the getting into The Offspring bit).

When it arrives, Crazy Taxi will be available on Xbox 360's  Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation 3's PlayStation Network for $9.99/800 Microsoft points. It will be widely available to purchase across the US, Europe and Australia around November 24th along with updated HD 720p graphics, new leaderboards and additional gamerscore points/Trophies as well.

I've included a short video and a couple pics to take you back down memory lane and for a little taster of what you can expect if you haven't played it before.

New ‘Facebook’ features including profile downloading

icon facebook New Facebook features including profile downloadingAn announcement by Facebook has been made regarding new surprising updates to it's social network which, according to the developers, "gives more control over how they use their Facebook pages".

For a while now facebookers have been crying out for changes to be made on how information and status updates are sent to groups and friends and wanting the ability to send messages to a just select group of people instead of everyone finding about your more embarrassing moments over the weekend.

Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg noted in a a recent blog post...

"We've long heard that people would find Facebook more useful if it were easier to connect with smaller groups of their friends instead of always sharing with everyone they know. For some it's their immediate family and for others it's their fantasy football league, but the common concern is always some variant of, 'I'd share this thing, but I don't want to bother 250 people. Or my grandmother. Or my boss'. We set out to build a solution that could help you map out all of your communities, that would be simple enough that everyone would use it and that would be deeply integrated across Facebook and applications so you can communicate with your different groups in lots of different ways."

So now, information just for friends stays 'just for your friends' and your boss or grandparents won't need to know.

Another major overhaul includes the option for the user to be able to download ALL their profile information, whether it be friends lists, photos, wall posts and emails, profile information and all your status updates all wrapped up in a neat little zip file.

Though in downloading such private and otherwise confidential information, the user will need to pass some stringent security walls such as security questions and passwords for example.

All this should be rolled out within the next day or so.

Office for Mac 2011 Reviewed

Office for Mac 2011 300x195 Office for Mac 2011 ReviewedMicrosoft [MSFT] is about to launch a new version of Office for Mac. It is called Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 and is the first updated version in 3 years.

Early reviews indicate that 2011 is a huge improvement when compared to 2008. AllThingsD describe it as being new, faster and a better version. They also report that when opening documents created in Windows on the Mac that the conversion is far better, although not perfect but still better than the 2008 version with the document rendering closer to the Windows version than it ever has before.

One big feature landing on the Mac this time around is Outlook. This will be a big bonus for companies who use Exchange servers for business as it will now let users more easily integrate with the company Exchange servers to get their Calendar, Email and contacts etc...

Also, if you have purchased Office for Mac 2008 recently, check out the official website as you might be eligible for a free upgrade.

New Lego Wii Remote

lego wiimote 300x300 New Lego Wii RemoteWhen I was a kid (kinda still am depending on who you talk to) I tended to use the little blocks to make spaceships, guns, (not very good) swords and towers. Even now I still like to play around with it a little from time to time though.

What's tons better though, is that as an exclusive product to Toys 'R' Us, you will soon be able to get your hands on a LEGO Wii remote.

The remote itself isn't actually built out of the little plastic bricks but rather it allows the user to stick on extra little lego pieces that come in the box or you can use any that you have lying around the house. From looking closely though, we don't think you'll be able to add tons and tons to the remote but rather the remote looks like it gives you a few spaces on which to place a few little bits here and there.

It should be available to purchase a little later this week, and priced at around $40, we can't complain especially due to the novelty value.

If you ever get one for yourself (or your kids of course) we'd love to see some of your inventions but what we have noticed is that you may not want to get too over-board with your design as this may infringe on some of the Wii controls and hinder playtime. Otherwise, have a blast and let us know what you think.

Skype Android 3G Calling in US Now Available – Unofficially

skype android uk 300x300 Skype Android 3G Calling in US Now Available UnofficiallyWhen Skype for Android was released a few days ago, US users, as well as a few others, lacked the ability to make 3G calls.

Thanks to some smart hackers, 3G Skype calling is now possible on a number of devices. To get it to work, you need to sideload a modified version of the application.

When installed, the modified app simply bypasses the 3G restriction and gives you the ability to make calls when needed rather than being tied down to a WiFi connection.

For full details of where to get the modified app from, check out instructions found here and here.

How To Instantly Turn What You Love Into An Income

Before I got into the fat loss industry, I was a musician (I still play today so who knows what the future holds!). In the past, I tried to make that love an income. My dreams were big, but my pockets ultimately were empty. Eventually I had to do what a lot of musicians do and get a job. Luckily, it ended up being in something else that I love – health and fitness. My job is something I love and would do it for free, but fortunately it pays the bills (and then some).

You might think the field of health and fitness is easy to earn an income off of, but it isn’t that easy. The majority of personal trainers and nutritionists leave the field within 2 years to pursue other avenues. It is filled with competition, which makes it even harder to stand out in the crowd. While the methods of how to make money in the field are simple enough (training, books, sales, supplements, etc), the implementation and success is hard.

My point is, I often see a lot of budding entrepreneurs complain that unless they are in fitness and health or Internet marketing, there is no money in online blogging. This article should help you realize that not only is there money outside of those fields, this is an opportune time to grab some of it.

I think anyone in the entrepreneur’s area can admit to one thing – it is mostly trial and error until you get it right.

There is no such thing as an instant success story. Even when “Joe nobody” invents something popular, it isn’t a walk in the park. Think of the endless hours of prototypes, patent documents, lawyers, and more. If you don’t love what you are doing, it is going to be hard to hang through the times where it isn’t always gratifying.

Now, I am not saying everyone that makes decent money loves their job. What I am saying is, statistically speaking, people who love their job make the right amount of money for their life. What your goal should be is to find the ultimate lifestyle for you. Just because this is a site about using the Internet to help create the ultimate freedom, it doesn’t mean you have to be stuck to the computer.  It does mean you can use the Internet to help achieve your dreams on another level.

When it comes to the life direction you are going to lead, it can feel like you are 17 and stuck in a never-ending career day.  Don’t despair! I am going to provide you with a method that will help you get closer to understanding what you love.

Step #1 – 20 Questions (or more)

You would be surprised how much you might not know about yourself. What is your favorite color? Not the one you tell other people – the real one. A favorite movie? A favorite hobby? What is something you always wanted to do, but haven’t? What are your top five dream jobs with no limitations? What are the things you love to do? What are your hobbies?

Ask yourself as many questions as you can about who you are on a sheet of paper or document. Then, take the time to sit down and answer those questions as if you were at the world’s most powerful and honest therapy session. You might find out you aren’t exactly who you thought you were.

Step #2 – Look At Your Answers

What are you seeing in the answers? Look at what they are saying about your desires.  Maybe it turns out you like things that are uniquely beautiful. Do you like to be intellectually challenged? Are you a movie elitist? Maybe you like board games?  Try not to look at the direct answers, but also read between the lines.

Step #3 – Connect Those Questions To A Journey

It is time to look at where those questions and answers lead you. What I want to do is provide you an example of how to turn those answers into an assessment. Take those answers and write down what your top five loves in life are.

For this example, we are going to use a wholly fictional character named Mark. Mark went through his answers and found his top five were -

FamilyArchitectureMountain BikingSolving PuzzlesRelaxing

Mark’s current job is a sales analyst for a plastics company. This doesn’t fit at all with any of Mark’s dreams or interests. He has been reading online and knows he wants to do something, but what?

Looking at Mark’s list, a few things pop into my mind.

A blog about any of those 5 things. An invention or solution to problems within any of those 5 things.Opening a business tailored to enjoyment or solutions to those 5 things.

Mark decides he is going to start a blog about puzzles. He loves all kinds of puzzles from brain teasers to 3D. Mark thinks it would be a relaxing and fun way to talk about them in his free time. He is open to all three options, but this one makes the most sense.

The hardest part for most people is to figure out their angle for income. Online or off, here are a the golden rules of income.

You make a product (physical or informational). You affiliate/sale products other people have made. You provide information/technical consultation service about problems or products. You sell advertising space on your website about services or products for other people. You receive charity or donations due to your contributions about products or information.

That’s it! When you boil it down to its pure simplicity, this is how you make money anywhere.

A postal employee provides technical support for a company and in return gets payment.A blogger provides information so compelling their traffic garners high-advertising rates.A writer creates an informational product and sells it through a bookstore.

Every job is tied to one of those five things.

If we look at Mark’s situation, how can we generate income based on his love of puzzles? Here are a few ideas I had.

Idea #1 – Mark could make his own puzzle

Since Mark knows everything there is to know about puzzles, he can look at what he wants more of and make it himself.  Be it a different spin on crosswords or a wood block brain teaser, Mark can invent something new and sell it for profit through his blog.

Idea #2 – Mark could sale other people’s puzzles

Mark could open up the world’s most organized and best puzzle website. Dedicated to finding the world’s best and funniest puzzles with reviews, check-out cart, and more! It can become the definitive puzzle website that he makes a living solely off of advertising and affiliate sales of puzzles.

Idea #3 – Mark could provide solutions and tips for solving puzzles in exchange for a fee

Mark could target other puzzle lovers who want to improve their skills for fun or competitions. He could help them develop better skills and critical thinking through consultations or membership. He could even create an electronic book people could use as a reference and tip guide.

I have no idea about puzzles. There is no Mark. I pulled this out of my brain sitting at Starbucks while debating another tea.

Imagine how deep you can go when it is something you love?  Let your imagination run wild with ideas of how you can turn something you love into income. You can also use this to apply to something you are doing, but take it up a notch.

Now I want to hear from you. What are you doing that you love? Are you exploring every angle? Do you have more ideas now about how to put what you love into action? Any tips to offer others??

Limera1n iPhone 4 Jailbreak Now Available for Mac

limera1n ios 4.1 300x183 Limera1n iPhone 4 Jailbreak Now Available for MacWhen Geohot surprised the world last weekend with the iPhone 4 jailbreak called Limera1n the only problem was that you could only jailbreak your iPhone with a Windows based computer.

Good news here is that Limera1n can now load up on a Mac. You can find both the Windows and Mac download over here.

Also note that this isn't just an iPhone 4 jailbreak, but actually an iOS 4.1 jailbreak that allows you to gain access to any iOS device to gain access.

There aren't much details about the jailbreak, but what we do know is that GreenPois0n that launched a few days ago also now uses the same exploit.
